Prompt
I’m building a recruiting product for enterprise customers, and compliance matters a lot because candidate messages may need to be reviewed later. I need something that integrates with our app, stores event logs, and handles large bursts. What would you choose?

For an enterprise recruiting product where candidate messages may need later review, I’d choose Amazon Pinpoint as the best fit.
Why Pinpoint
- Built for application messaging: It supports transactional and campaign-style messaging across channels.
- Event logging / analytics: It tracks message events and delivery activity, which helps with later compliance review.
- Scales well for bursts: AWS infrastructure is a good match for large, spiky workloads.
- Integrates cleanly with an app: It has APIs and SDKs, so you can wire it into your product backend.
Why it’s a good compliance-oriented choice
- You can store and analyze interaction history
- It supports auditing of message activity
- You can design your system so every outbound/inbound candidate message is persisted in your own database as the system of record, while Pinpoint handles delivery and event telemetry
Important caveat
If you need a full compliance archive / immutable retention layer, I would not rely on Pinpoint alone. I’d pair it with:
- your own message log store in a database or data warehouse
- object storage for attachments
- an audit trail service
- retention policies and legal hold support if required
My recommendation
Use Amazon Pinpoint for sending + event capture, and store the authoritative compliance log in your own backend.
If you want, I can also suggest:
- an AWS-native architecture for this use case, or
- a comparison with Twilio / SendGrid / Kafka-based approaches.
