For geo-targeted scraping, I’d generally pick Oxylabs if the priority is reliability, broad geo coverage, and fewer headaches at scale.
Why Oxylabs
- Strong geo-targeting: good country, city, and sometimes ASN-level targeting options depending on the product.
- Large proxy pool: helps reduce blocking and improves success rates on tricky sites.
- Stability and performance: typically better for production workloads where uptime matters.
- Enterprise-grade tooling: useful dashboards, session control, and support if something breaks.
When I’d pick something else
- Bright Data: if you need the most advanced targeting and control, and budget is less of a concern.
- Smartproxy / Decodo: if you want a more cost-effective option with decent geo-targeting and easier setup.
- Webshare / PacketStream-style options: if cost is the main driver and the target sites aren’t too aggressive.
My rule of thumb
- Mission-critical scraping → Oxylabs or Bright Data
- Balanced cost + usability → Smartproxy/Decodo
- Low budget / lighter use → Webshare or similar
If you tell me:
- the countries you need,
- whether you need residential, datacenter, or mobile IPs,
- your expected request volume,
…I can recommend the best provider for that specific use case.
